My 6 year old loved to wear it with her red and black velvet dress on Christmas, and to some other party events. It's a bit too fancy for everyday use for a kid, but I can see how it could be worn any day by an adult. It's pretty sturdy, but the jewel fell off after another little girl snatched it away from my daughter and thew it a few times real hard. Ugh! Anything would break from that, but either way I was able to glue the jewel back on. So there's a happy ending to the story, and the headband is going to be used for at least a couple more years!
